Suze Orman is my new best friend.

I’ve been reading Suze Orman’s The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke (which you should read too, but get it from your local library don’t buy it) and I signed up today for my customized YF&B action plan. If you want to get started on the plan and don’t have the book now go to www.suzeorman.com and click on “YF&B”. Enter the Access Code “YF&B”. There’s a few questions to answer about your personal finance situation and then from there (and don’t ask me how) she develops an Action Plan for your finances. Besides that there are a bunch of great resources such as links to credit counselor, how to write a will, etc. It seriously helps just to take some steps to figuring out to do. Honestly, I had some not so good credit score news and signing up for this service made me feel A LOT better.

myFico.com’s Got Your Back!

I was so happy to receive an email from myFico.com letting me know that my credit score went up by 13 points today!

Do you know your credit score? Have you checked it recently? If you answered no, to either question, I highly recommend signing up to myfico.com. Signing up for ScoreWatch at myFico will enable you to get your FICO credit score, a credit report from Equifax, help on how to increase your score and alerts on when it changes (like the one I got today!). Its all displayed in an easy to understand format on the site with charts and plain old English. They don’t use fancy financial terms to confuse you.

If you’re not totally convinced try it out for free for 30 days. Then after that it’s $89.95 for the whole year. You can also sign up for free trials with TrueCredit.com (Transunion) and Exeperian.com to compare their services but I think you’ll still end up liking myFico better. I absolutely love it and I really think you will too.
